Overseer Joshua Goodin, the fourth of five children born to Jacqueline Goodin and the late Jesse Wallace Jr., was born, and raised in South Philadelphia. He was educated in the Philadelphia School District attending Furness High School. Upon graduation, he attended the West Chester University of PA., and later transferred to Geneva College at the Center for Urban Theological Studies, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree. Overseer Goodin completed the PULPIT (Program for Urban Leaders and Pastors in Transition) program at Missio Seminary in 2021 and is currently finishing his Master of Divinity Degree coursework.
A man after God's heart
As a child Overseer Goodin felt a special anointing on his life growing up at the Greater Saint Matthew Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Steven Avinger Sr., Overseer Goodin was ordained as a deacon in 2007, then licensed to preach in 2008, and was ordained on his birthday January 18, 2015. He has served various servant leader roles in Men's, Education, and Music ministry. Until January of 2015, he served as the Pastoral Head of the Ministry of Zamar (which consist of Music, Dance, Mime, Communication, and Theater Arts). Overseer Goodin then transitioned into the role of Youth Pastor at Greater Saint Matthew Baptist Church Chosen Ministries. In November of 2017, the Saint Paul Chapel Baptist Church voted to elect the Overseer Joshua Goodin as the 8th Senior Pastor. Overseer Goodin was installed on the first Sunday in March of 2018, since assuming of pastor Reverend Goodin has founded the St. Paul Chapel Restoration CDC, had the church's non-profit status reinstated, restructured the new member’s course, ordained one deacon and four deaconesses, renovated the church’s Family Life Center, implemented noon day bible study, membership has increased, and new fellowships established. Overseer Goodin has been on the move for the kingdom and the best is yet to come.

Overseer Goodin is a sought-after preacher, workshop facilitator, and ministerial trainer. He is the founder of New Kingdom Builders Fellowship and Joshua Goodin Ministries. Overseer Goodin is a father, son, sibling, and friend with a servant’s heart. His life scripture is: “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)
