The Very Reverend Joshua Goodin, is the Senior Pastor of the St. Paul Chapel Baptist Church, located in the South Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. He is a prolific preacher, teacher, and speaker sought after for his skills in leadership, ministerial and discipleship training.
As a child Overseer Goodin felt a special anointing on his life growing up at the Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Steven Avinger Sr. Overseer Goodin was ordained as a deacon in 2007, licensed to preach in 2008, and then was ordained as a Reverend on his birthday January 18, 2015. During his time at Greater St. Matthew, he served various servant leader roles with the Men, Education, Youth, and Music ministries. He served as the Pastoral Head of Ministry of Zamar (which consists of Music, Dance, Mime, Communication, and Theater Arts), and the Youth Pastor of Chosen Ministries.
A man after God's heart
In November of 2017, the St. Paul Chapel Baptist Church voted to elect Overseer Joshua Goodin as the 8th Senior Pastor. Since assuming the role of pastor, membership has increased and new fellowships established. Overseer Goodin founded the St. Paul Chapel Restoration CDC, had the church’s non-profit status reinstated, implemented new ministries, established awards in the names of the founding pastor and longest serving pastor, renovated the church’s Family Life Center, and implemented noon day bible study. In 2022 he was elevated to the office of Overseer under the New Day Interfaith Fellowship of Churches and Ministries (NDIF). In 2024, he ordained the first female minister in the history of St. Paul Chapel.
Overseer Goodin is the Director of Pastors and Ministers division of New Day Interfaith Fellowship of Churches and Ministries, and a Fellowship Pastor with the Fellowship of Churches. He is an active member of the Baptist Pastors and Ministers Conference of Philadelphia & Vicinity, Pennsylvania Eastern Keystone Baptist Association (PEKBA), and is the Educational and Outreach Specialist for the PA Office of Attorney General.
Overseer Goodin is a game changer in the ministry providing programs and resources that support its participants and the churches or people they relate to. He is the founder of New Kingdom Builders Fellowship and Joshua Goodin Ministries www.jgministries.net. Overseer Goodin is a father, son, sibling, and friend with a servant’s heart. He has been on the move for the kingdom and the best is yet to come. His life scripture is: “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)
