86 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE SOUTH PHILLY COMMUNITY

Greetings,

Welcome 2024! Happy New Year Chapel family and friends, in the words of Patti LaBelle, “It's a new day (Open my eyes and my path is clearer) New day (Pushing ahead till my goal is nearer).”  We have finished chapter 2023 and began another chapter with excitement and great expectations.  This year as a body of disciples our theme is: “Sowing to Grow” Ephesians 4:15 (NIV), “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.”  Our focus this year is growing up to the head, too often as believers we become content with infancy and stunt our growth. The new year doesn’t equal a new you, but a new year should reflect a better you, how can you become better in Christ this year?  What seeds need to be sown for you to become stronger in your prayer life, devotional time, giving, etc.?

In His Service,
Overseer Joshua Goodin
Senior Pastor

Let’s journey this year in to greater and grow to the mature of Christ Jesus. It’s time to dig deeper into territories that we’ve avoided in 2023, forgive what we’ve been carrying, restore what has been broken, and draw closer to the Almighty. I am looking forward to how the Spirit is going to shift in the life of St. Paul Chapel, Philadelphia, and the word.  But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV).

MEET OUR PASTOR!

Many are Called, Few are Chosen

In November of 2017, the Saint Paul Chapel Baptist Church voted to elect the Overseer Joshua Goodin as the 8th Senior Pastor.  Overseer Goodin was installed on the first Sunday in March of 2018, since assuming the role of pastor, Overseer Goodin founded the St. Paul Chapel Restoration CDC, had the church’s non-profit status reinstated, restructured the new member’s course, licensed one minister, ordained one deacon and four deaconesses, renovated the church’s Family Life Center, and implemented noon day bible study.  Membership has increased, and new fellowships and ministries have been established.  Overseer Goodin has been on the move for the kingdom and the best is yet to come.
