Many are Called, Few are Chosen
The Right Reverend Joshua Goodin, is the Senior Pastor of the St. Paul Chapel Baptist Church, located in the South Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. He is a prolific preacher, teacher, and speaker sought after for his skills in leadership, ministerial and discipleship training.
As a child Bishop Goodin felt a special anointing on his life growing up at the Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Steven Avinger Sr. Bishop Goodin was ordained as a deacon in 2007, licensed to preach in 2008, ordained as a Reverend in 2015, elevated to Overseer in 2022 and the office of Bishop in 2026 through the New Day Interfaith Fellowship of Churches and Ministries (NDIF). During his time at Greater St. Matthew, he served various servant leader roles with the Men, Education, Youth, and Music ministries. He served as the Pastoral Head of the Ministry of Zamar (worship and arts), and the Youth Pastor of Chosen Ministries. Bishop Goodin attended West Chester University and Geneva College, graduating with a Bachelor of Human Services. He is currently working on his Masters of Divinity at Lancaster.
A man after God's heart
In November of 2017, the St. Paul Chapel Baptist Church voted to elect Bishop Joshua Goodin as the 8th Senior Pastor. Since assuming the role of pastor, membership has increased, and new fellowships established. Bishop Goodin founded the St. Paul Chapel Restoration CDC, had the church’s non-profit status reinstated, implemented new ministries, established awards in the names of the founding pastor and longest serving pastor, renovated the church’s Family Life Center, and implemented noon day bible study. Underneath his pastoral leadership five deacons were ordained, two ministers licensed, and two reverends ordained.
Bishop Goodin is the Director of Pastors and Ministers division of New Day Interfaith Fellowship of Churches and Ministries. He is an active member of the Baptist Pastors and Ministers Conference of Philadelphia & Vicinity, Pennsylvania Eastern Keystone Baptist Association (PEKBA), Pennsylvania Baptist State Convention (PBSC), former VP of Pennsylvania Progressive Baptist Alliance of PNBC, and is an Educational and Outreach Specialist for the PA Office of Attorney General.
Bishop Goodin is a game changer in the ministry providing programs, workshops, and resources that support its participants and the churches or people they relate to. He is the founder of New Kingdom Builders Fellowship and Joshua Goodin Ministries www.jgministries.net. Bishop Goodin is a father, son, sibling, and friend with a servant’s heart. He has been on the move for the kingdom and the best is yet to come. His life scripture is: “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)
